KORTHOFF PRESTON MOTORSPORTS SPRINTS TO THE TOP OF THE PODIUM AT THE FINAL SPRINT RACE OF THE 2024 SEASON

If you were at the podium circle after Sunday’s race, you would have heard the thrilling announcement: “In first place in the GTD category is Korthoff Preston Motorsports!” The crowd erupted as Korthoff Preston Motorsport’s drivers, Mikael Grenier and Kenton Koch, claimed the top step of the podium for the first time, capping off a show-stopping performance.

After qualifying second in the GTD class and seventh overall, the No. 32 Mercedes-AMG took the lead almost immediately after the green flag dropped—and they never looked back. Leading the rest of the race, Korthoff Preston Motorsports showcased its prowess and dominated the GTD field in a true team effort.

Much like the resilient owners of Virginia International Raceway, who revived the track from its 1970s closure to become a motorsport success, Korthoff Preston Motorsports demonstrated unwavering determination. Overcoming a year of challenges, their grit finally paid off in true racing fashion. With two races left in the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Korthoff Preston Motorsports is ready to build on this win and solidify their championship standing.

Post-Race Reactions:

“Feels amazing to have been a part of the team’s first win. It was a long time coming for them, and all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place for it to happen today. Mik killed it at the end and finished the job beautifully.”— Kenton Koch, Driver, No. 32, Korthoff Preston Motorsports

“I am very happy for everyone on the team. The first win is always special. Everyone did a mega job with great pit stops and no mistakes. Kenton made my job easy—I just had to keep it on track and bring it home.”— Mikael Grenier, Driver, No. 32, Korthoff Preston Motorsports

"I would like to thank the crew and the drivers for keeping the faith."— Walt Preston, Team Co-Owner, No. 32, Korthoff Preston Motorsports

Korthoff Preston Motorsports is truly a family, and this victory could not have been achieved without a full team effort. The team now heads to Indy, ready to continue their championship streak. Stay tuned for more success from Korthoff Preston Motorsports.
