KORTHOFF PRESTON MOTORSPORTS SPRINTS TO THE END AT THE FINAL SPRINT RACE OF THE 2024 SEASON

The final sprint race in IMSA’s 2024 schedule is set to commence at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), and Korthoff Preston Motorsports, with their formidable No. 32 Mercedes-AMG, is ready to answer the call. Tucked away in the rolling hills of Southern Virginia, VIR is celebrated for its picturesque setting, challenging turns, and dramatic elevation changes.

The history of Virginia International Raceway is marked with hard times, unwavering determination, and success against all odds – much like the journey of Korthoff Preston Motorsports. As one of the first permanent American road racing tracks, VIR found early success. However, the landscape changed in the early 1970s when a fuel crisis and economic hardships led to the closure of VIR as the sportscar world knew it. For the next 25 years, the track was used as farmland. But, sportscar racing was destined to thrive at VIR, and two investors from New York believed in the vision and spent the next two years renovating VIR into the success that it is today.

Korthoff Preston Motorsports’ journey through the 2024 season tells a similar story. At the start of the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Season, the team found initial success – earning the first endurance cup championship points of the season after leading most of the Rolex 24 in the GTD category, followed by a podium finish at Long Beach, setting the stage for the team who currently sits in third place in Championship points. With adversity throughout the season, one thing has never wavered – the team's determination to succeed, and like VIR, they will succeed against all odds.
