Korthoff Preston Motorsports (KPM) celebrated a remarkable start to the 2024 season at Daytona International Speedway during the Roar and the Rolex 24, showcasing the prowess of their No. 32 Mercedes-AMG in the thrilling world of motorsports.
The iconic Daytona International Speedway set the stage for an intense competition where teams faced formidable challenges during the Roar and the grueling Rolex 24.
KPM's No. 32 Mercedes-AMG, proudly carrying the team's new livery, demonstrated outstanding performance, leading most laps at this prestigious event. Despite a valiant effort, the team concluded the race just shy of a podium finish, ultimately securing an impressive fifth place finish. Many cars failed to make it through the night, emphasizing the exceptional skill and determination required to conquer this demanding circuit. Having won the endurance points at Daytona, this remarkable accomplishment marks KPM's foray into the endurance racing season, with the team now setting their sights on claiming the International Motorsports Endurance Championship (IMEC) once again, a title they clinched in the 2023 season.
Daytona International Speedway, with its iconic banking turns and rich history, provided the perfect backdrop, where the team showcased their tenacity, skill, and commitment to excellence, leaving an indelible mark on this legendary racetrack.
“Again, this team has done a fantastic job of being consistently fast throughout the race and executing very well. Unfortunately, we just didn’t have the pace at the end to fight for the win. I’m sure our time is coming.”— Mike Skeen
“Good weekend in Daytona. We ran almost a perfect race without many mistakes, we had a good pit stop, and all drivers did their job. We were in a position to fight for the win at the end of the race, but we were lacking some pace, so we couldn’t do it. Still, P5 is a good achievement, and we will try again in Sebring.”— Mikael Grenier
“We had an awesome race all the way to the end this year with a 5th place finish. Close but no cigar. I also have never had more dirt in my eyes and nose than this year. So I’m glad it wasn’t for nothing!”— Kenton Koch
“We are not leaving Daytona with empty hands. We secured very important points for the Endurance Cup. I am very proud that we achieved this. We gave it our all and finished P5. Thank you to everyone involved – they did a great job over the last 10 days, and I enjoyed every moment.”— Maximilian Götz
As KPM heads into the next leg of the season, fans can anticipate an exhilarating display of skill and determination as the team aims to replicate their success from the previous year in the International Motorsports Endurance Championship (IMEC).
